Risk Assessment
In general, a risk assessment involves identifying the hazards present in some work activities or hazards associated with the layout of the premises, the working environment, the storing facilities or the failure of critical parts. This is followed by an evaluation of the extent of risk involved, taking cognisance of the Geographical area, Functions and Equipment, Material and Substances.
The level of risk therefore depends both on the probability that an incident will occur and on how severe the damage or injury will be if it does occur. The degree of harm and the number of people who may be harmed or affected is part of the consideration in determining the latter.
